1. How We Collect and Use Children's Personal Information

Space View is a tool for looking up spaceflight launch information worldwide, suitable for users of all ages. It offers launch schedules, an astronomy calendar and space photos. A child can browse launch information without registering an account.

(a) Personal information we collect directly

While a child uses Space View, we collect and use their personal information only in the following situations:

1. Account registration and sign-in

When a child registers or signs in to a Space View account, we collect the child's email address, or mobile number together with the WeChat authorisation data (encryptedData, iv), in order to create the account and keep it secure.

If the child declines to provide this information they cannot register an account, but this does not affect the basic features of Space View, such as browsing launch information.

A child may choose to add an avatar and nickname to complete their profile. If the child chooses to provide an avatar, we need access to the camera or photo library. The child may choose not to provide this information, and doing so does not affect the other features of Space View.

2. Keeping the service secure and stable

To keep Space View running securely and stably, to guard against online crime, to better prevent phishing sites, fraud, network vulnerabilities, computer viruses and network attacks, and to identify breaches of laws, regulations or the Space View agreements more accurately, we may collect, use or combine the child's account information, device information and log information, together with information shared by our partners with authorisation or under the law, in order to assess account and transaction risk, verify identity, detect and prevent security incidents, and take the necessary recording, analysis and remediation measures permitted by law.

3. Saving and following

When a child saves a launch or follows a space agency, we record that action so that we can provide a personalised service and send the corresponding reminders.

4. Launch reminders

When a child sets a launch reminder, we record the reminder settings and notify the child before the launch by Mini Program message or app push notification.

5. Customer service

When a child or their guardian contacts our support team or sends us a comment or suggestion, we may need the personal information necessary to match and verify the child's user identity so that we can respond promptly.

(b) Exceptions to the requirement for consent

Under applicable law, we may collect and use a child's personal information without the consent of the child and their guardian where:

• it is directly related to national security or national defence;
• it is directly related to public security, public health or major public interests;
• it is directly related to criminal investigation, prosecution, trial or the enforcement of judgments;
• it is necessary to protect the life, property or other material lawful interests of the child or another individual, but consent from the guardian is difficult to obtain;
• the personal information collected is information that the child or their guardian has made public themselves;
• the personal information is collected from lawfully disclosed sources, such as lawful news reports or government disclosures;
• it is necessary in order to conclude or perform a contract at the request of the child or their guardian;
• it is necessary to keep Space View running securely and stably — for example, to detect and fix faults in the product or service;
• it is necessary for lawful news reporting;
• it is necessary for an academic research institution to carry out statistical or academic research in the public interest, and the personal information contained in any externally provided results is de-identified;
• any other circumstance provided for by laws and regulations.

Please note: under current law and regulatory requirements, children's personal information is sensitive personal information. We ask children and their guardians to be careful and considered about providing children's personal information to Space View. Providing it indicates agreement that we may process it for the purposes and in the ways described in this Policy.

(c) Rules on using children's personal information

1. We use the children's personal information we collect in accordance with this Policy and in order to deliver the features of our products and services.
2. After collecting children's personal information, we de-identify the data by technical means so that it can no longer identify a particular child. Children and their guardians understand and agree that, in these circumstances, we may use the de-identified information and may analyse and make commercial use of the user database, provided that no child's personal information is disclosed.
3. If we intend to use children's personal information for a purpose not set out in this Policy, or to use information collected for a specific purpose for a different one, or where we collect children's personal information directly from the child or their guardian, we will first obtain the guardian's explicit consent.

2. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies

(a) Cookies

To keep Space View working properly and efficiently, to make access easier for the child, and to recommend content the child may be interested in, we store small data files called cookies on the child's device. A cookie typically contains an identifier, the site name and some numbers and characters. Cookies allow Space View to store the child's preferences and similar data.

We do not use cookies for any purpose other than those described in this Policy. A child's guardian may manage or delete cookies according to their own preferences, and may clear all cookies saved on the device; most browsers also offer a setting to block cookies. If the guardian does so, however, the user settings will need to be changed on each visit to Space View.

(b) Web beacons and similar technologies

Besides cookies, we also use web beacons and similar technologies in Space View. Our pages may contain small electronic images (known as "single-pixel" GIFs or "web beacons"). We use web beacons to:

• count the number of user visits to Space View and, by reference to cookies, recognise registered users;
• provide a personalised service to the child on the basis of the cookie information obtained.

3. How We Share, Transfer and Publicly Disclose Children's Personal Information

(a) Sharing

We do not share children's personal information with any company, organisation or individual other than the Developer, except:

• with the guardian's explicit consent: having obtained the guardian's explicit consent, we may share children's personal information with other parties;
• where the law requires it: we may share children's personal information externally in accordance with laws and regulations, the needs of litigation or dispute resolution, or a lawful request from an administrative or judicial authority;
• with affiliated parties: so that we can provide a consistent service through a single Space View account, and so that the account can be managed centrally, recommendations personalised and the system and account kept secure, a child's personal information may be shared with our affiliated parties;
• with authorised partners: solely for the purposes stated in this Policy, some of our services are delivered by authorised partners. We may share certain of the child's personal information with partners in order to provide a better service and user experience.

(b) Transfer

We do not transfer children's personal information to any company, organisation or individual, except:

• with the guardian's explicit consent, after which we may transfer children's personal information to another party;
• in the case of a merger, acquisition or bankruptcy liquidation involving a transfer of children's personal information, where we will require the company or organisation that comes to hold that information to remain bound by this Policy; failing that, we will require it to seek the guardian's consent again.

(c) Public disclosure

We publicly disclose children's personal information only:

• with the guardian's explicit consent; or
• where disclosure is mandatory under the law, legal process, litigation or a requirement of a competent government authority.

4. How We Protect Children's Personal Information

1. We apply reasonable and practicable security measures that meet industry standards to protect children's personal information against unauthorised access, public disclosure, use, alteration, damage or loss. For example, data exchanged between the child's browser and our servers is protected by SSL encryption; Space View is served over HTTPS; we use encryption to improve the security of children's personal information; we use trusted protective mechanisms to guard against malicious attack; we deploy access controls so that, as far as possible, only authorised personnel can access children's personal information; and we run security and privacy training to reinforce awareness of how important protecting children's personal information is.
2. We take reasonable and practicable steps to avoid collecting children's personal information that is not relevant. We retain children's personal information only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy, unless the law requires longer retention.
3. The internet is not an absolutely secure environment. We strongly recommend that children and their guardians do not send children's personal information through Space View or other messaging channels.
4. We maintain an incident response plan and activate it immediately if a user-information security incident occurs, in order to limit the impact and consequences. Following an incident affecting children's personal information (a leak or loss), we will inform the guardian, as required by law, of the basic circumstances and possible impact of the incident, the measures we have taken or will take, recommendations for steps the guardian can take to protect the child and reduce risk, and the remedies available.
5. If a guardian has any question about our protection of children's personal information, they can contact us using the details at the end of this Policy. If a guardian discovers that a child's personal information has been disclosed, please contact us immediately so that we can take appropriate measures.

5. Storage of Children's Personal Information

(a) Where information is stored

We provide services within mainland China and worldwide, and a child's personal information will be stored on the servers required to provide those services. We apply security measures that meet industry standards to protect it.

Where a child's personal information needs to be transferred across borders, we will inform the guardian separately, obtain their explicit consent, and ensure that the information is adequately protected as required by law and by this Policy.

(b) How long information is stored

We retain a child's personal information only for as long as is necessary to provide Space View and its services. Once the child or their guardian deletes the account, or the child deletes the information themselves, we will delete or anonymise the child's personal information, unless laws or regulations provide otherwise.

6. Managing Children's Personal Information

So that children and their guardians can access, correct and delete children's personal information more easily, we have built the corresponding settings into the product. Children and guardians may also use the contact details we provide to raise questions or give feedback. We will act on a guardian's request once we have verified their identity.

(a) Access

A guardian can view the child's personal information provided or generated through use of our products and services, including account information, saved items and browsing history. Account information can be viewed in the app under "Mine → Account Management".

(b) Correction

We encourage children and their guardians to keep the child's personal information accurate and up to date. If a child or guardian finds that the children's personal information we collect, use or process is inaccurate, they can contact us to have it corrected. We will verify identity, investigate and take prompt corrective action.

A child or guardian can correct the child's avatar, nickname and similar details in the app under "Mine → Account Management".

(c) Deletion

A child or their guardian may ask us to delete the child's personal information in the following circumstances, and we will act promptly once identity has been verified and the matter checked:

• where we have collected, stored, used, transferred or disclosed the child's personal information in breach of laws, administrative regulations or our agreement with the parties;
• where we have collected, stored, used, transferred or disclosed the child's personal information beyond the agreed purpose or the necessary period;
• where the guardian withdraws consent;
• where the child or guardian stops using Space View, including by deleting the account.

Please note: if a child or guardian deletes the child's personal information or applies to delete the account, it may no longer be possible to use our products and services, or some of their features. This does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of the guardian's earlier consent.

(d) Changing or withdrawing consent

A child and their guardian can change or withdraw part of the consent given by deleting the child's personal information, switching off device features and similar means.

Once consent is withdrawn, we will stop processing the corresponding children's personal information. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of the guardian's earlier consent.

(e) Deleting the account

A guardian can delete the child's account in the app under "Mine → Account Management → Delete Account". After deletion we will stop providing products and services to the child and, at the guardian's request and unless laws or regulations provide otherwise, delete the child's personal information.

(f) Responding to a guardian's requests

If a guardian cannot access or correct the child's personal information, or delete the child's account, in the ways described above, they may contact us at any time using the details in section 8. For security reasons we may need the request in writing, or other evidence of the guardian's identity and of the guardianship relationship. We will respond within fifteen days of receiving the request and verifying the guardian's identity.

We do not, as a rule, charge for reasonable requests. For repetitive requests that exceed reasonable limits, we may charge a reasonable cost. We may decline requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, create risk to the lawful rights of others, or are highly impractical.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Policy from time to time. Where a change would materially reduce the rights of children under it, we will notify guardians before the change takes effect — by a prominent notice on the page, by email or by other means. If a guardian does not accept the revised Policy, they should stop the child using Space View immediately; continued use indicates that the guardian agrees to be bound by the revised Policy.

8. How to Contact Us

We have a dedicated personal-information protection team and a designated person responsible for personal-information protection. If a guardian has any question, comment, suggestion or complaint about this Policy or about the protection of children's personal information, they can contact us in any of the following ways:

We will normally reply within fifteen days of receiving the question, comment or suggestion and verifying the guardian's identity.

If a guardian is not satisfied with our reply — in particular if they consider that our handling of children's personal information has harmed the child's lawful rights and interests — they may seek a remedy by bringing proceedings before the competent court in the defendant's place of domicile.
